Volunteer Info
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Families First! Our goal is to provide the most rewarding volunteer experience by matching your interests and talents with our organization’s needs. We typically have opportunities for individual and companies to support our public events, including Back-to-School Bash, Mother’s and Father’s Day celebrations, the Georgia Center for Resources & Support Celebration of Adoption, and more. In November, we love having individuals or groups sponsor one of our families through our Gift-a-Family program.
We are incredibly grateful for all who offer their time and talents to Families First. Thank you for wanting to make a difference in the lives of the families we serve
We do not have a mandatory volunteer orientation; however, a short day-of training may be provided for certain opportunities.
There is no time requirement for volunteering with Families First. We appreciate any time you can give to help us further our mission and serve our community.
Yes! Children and youth can join their parents for many of our volunteer opportunities. Children and youth must be accompanied by a supervising adult, and a parent or legal guardian must sign a volunteer waiver for any child/youth under the age of 18 who wishes to participate. We encourage our passionate youth leaders to get their community involved and help another child in need by hosting a fundraiser or donation drive.
Volunteer opportunities are generally at our main office at 80 Joseph E. Lowery Blvd. in the Historic Westside of Atlanta.
We occasionally have opportunities for you to complete court-ordered service hours. We only accept community service volunteers with misdemeanor charges that do not include offenses related to children, pets, or theft. Please contact volunteer@familiesfirst.org for current community service options.
