About Jean Childs Young
The fund is named in loving memory of Jean Childs Young’s lifelong dedication to children at Families First and beyond. Jean guided the work of Families First through her service on the Board of Directors for many years. Jean also co-founded the Atlanta/Fulton County Commission on Children and Youth. In 1978, President Jimmy Carter appointed Jean as chair of the American committee of the UN International Year of the Child. Jean also advocated for the well-being of children through the Children’s Defense Fund and UNICEF.
The Jean Childs Young Resilience Fund for Women & Children
Families First established the Jean Childs Young Resilience Fund for Women & Children to respond to the immediate needs of single mothers and their children who are struggling with complex challenges.

Community Empowerment Baby Shower
On Saturday, April 26th, Families First will host the Community Empowerment Baby Shower. Join us for an empowering afternoon of advocacy and fundraising to address the immediate needs of women and children in our community.
